Fathers’ Best Friends

Fathers Best Friends4

The idea from this interactive comic strip again comes from Uncle Irwan Rinaldy and Aunty Yully Purwanti of Sahabat Ayah (Father’s Best Friend), a non-profit organization aiming to support Indonesian fathers to be more actively involved in their children upbringing.

Just a few weeks ago, Uncle Boldo and his son, my best friend, Fuzzy, showed how father and son could bond and nurture a loving as well as fun relationship through partnership. This time, my father, Piko, and I wish to show you how wonderful it will be to have a father who can be our teacher as well. As you know, my father is the smartest and richest man in our village, Cragtop Caves. He knows a lot of things, including how to nurture our earth well in order to benefit from it.

I just love how he teaches me things. He does not only preach but also do and show me the right thing in a fun way. I guess, Fuzzy and I are lucky to have such caring and wonderful fathers. We hope that by sharing our stories, more fathers (not only in Indonesia but also around the world) will want to be great fathers. Great fathers are cool fathers, too!

On June 16, some countries will celebrate Father’s Day. I encourage you to show your love for your fathers. Give them a hug. Tell them that you love them, and really appreciate what they do for you. I am sure that they will love to know that you appreciate their efforts.

Today, the idea of the story comes from Uncle Irwan Rinaldi and Aunty Yully Purwanti of Sahabat Ayah (Father’s Best Friend). Sahabat Ayah is a non-profit organization aiming to support Indonesian fathers to be more actively involved in their children’s upbringing.

If you remember, according to Sahabat Ayah, there are 7 “hats” that a father must “wear” in order to be a good father. Fathers should be eternal friends for their children. Don’t you think it will be wonderful if all fathers can be our best friends forever?!

I had made a comic for “fathers as entertainers” before (February 6, 2013), so today, I made another one with a theme of “fathers as partners.” Fathers should be partners for their children in happy times as well as the not-so-happy times. Good and supportive partnership between father and child can create a strong team that are able to do so many positive activities. Just look at my best friend, Fuzzy and his father, Uncle Boldo.

Since May 15 is also a day to honor our brave policemen and policewomen, Fuzzy and Uncle Boldo, partner as policemen to make Cragtop Caves a better place for all of us. Don’t you think that they are cool? I do!

The idea of this sixth interactive comic strip came from Uncle Irwan Rinaldi and Aunty Yully Purwanti of Sahabat Ayah (Father’s Best Friend). Sahabat Ayah is a non-profit organization aiming to support Indonesian fathers to be more actively involved in their children’s upbringing.

In order to be a good father, there are 7 “hats” that a father must wear, according to this organization. One of it is the “Entertainer Hat.” As you can see in this edition of interactive comic, my best friends’ father, Uncle Boldo, is trying hard to make Fuzzy happy. Uncle Boldo did not try to give Fuzzy fancy toys, but he uses his facial expression, fun tricks and element of surprises. It’s always work! By doint this, both of them grow fondness each other and create a tight father and son relationship. A strong relationship with father will definitely help children’s character building, self-confidence and self-expression. So, I hope that more and more father can be a fun and loving father like Uncle Boldo!
